Anxiety

Overcoming Anxiety fast  - with Hypnotherapy and CBT.

Let me help transform you into the composed person you’ve always wanted to be.

Anxiety is today’s real pandemic. Expectations, pressure, media and western living all have their part to play.

Let’s move you through the issues that affect you, together.

Whether you’re in a dark place, overthinking, hampered by social anxiety or need help in overcoming health anxiety, you now have hope. Because with Hypno-CBT we can get you to a place of calm, confidence and composure.

We will look at your thoughts, emotions and behaviours and how they are interacting to put you where you are. We will begin to restructure your brain and its neural pathways to form new positive habits – cognitively and behaviourally.

And harnessing the power of your imagination through hypnosis, we will begin to turn you around.

We may use mindfulness and meditation techniques too, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

You can also relax knowing that Hypno-CBT is one of the best natural ways to ease or calm anxiety and stress without medication.

Questions you may have

Have a read through the questions below that you may have, and get in touch with me to see how I can help:

Q: How does hypnosis for anxiety work?

A: It can vary. But in some instances, anxiety can be imagined issues or worries about the future. This can be a form of negative self-hypnosis. So we relax you, induct you into a deep state of calm ‘hypnosis’ and begin to use your imagination to deepen that sense of calmness and relaxation by using imagery to move you into a positive, more pleasant state of being. Of course everyone is different and we work together on setting individual goals and bespoke treatment which our work will be shaped around. Hypnosis may be just one of many approaches.

Q: What are the best ways to deal with anxiety?

A: Looking for an ‘anxiety cure’, ‘getting over anxiety’ or thinking you can ‘stop anxiety’ are not always the most helpful mental approaches to the problem and can often make symptoms of anxiety more acute. Managing stress and anxiety or finding ways to reduce anxiety is more correct. I maintain that what I use, evidence-based Hypno-CBT, or hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, provides the best coping mechanisms for anxiety as it provides a number of methods within it. Put together they provide incredible effective anxiety relief using a number of methods, tools and hypnosis processes that are both inspiring and life changing.

Q: I need help with anxiety. Does ACT therapy for anxiety work?

A: There are a number of anxiety disorder treatments. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is one of the most contemporary approaches to help with depression, stress and anxiety issues. Made popular by Russ Harris’s book ‘The Happiness Trap’ and Steven Hayes’ work, it has its roots in mindfulness and is based on the idea of distancing and acceptance rather than struggle.

Q: Is it important to get a therapist near me for anxiety?

A: Not necessarily. Getting a local therapist for depression and anxiety, for instance, and working in person isn’t as crucial as it was once perceived to be. The therapeutic alliance and how well you work together is very important. It can be 50% of the success of the outcome. But nowadays online therapy has become popular since the pandemic and has proven to work very effectively.

Q: Are positive affirmations for anxiety effective?

A: Yes, they form a crucial part of my self care for anxiety treatment and are an integral part of self hypnosis.  In cognitive therapy we look at how much our self talk is a part of our issues – which can be considered negative self hypnosis. So it makes sense to build positive affirmations to rewire our brains and our thinking patterns.

Client Testimonials

David is brilliant. I have suffered with anxiety and trouble sleeping for a while, but his calming approach made it easy to speak to him. He provides tailored and practical solutions that you can take away and listen to at home. My sleep issues have drastically improved since my sessions, and I have also seen a big improvement in my anxiety and confidence levels. Even if things still do get a little overwhelming, I now feel more equipped to deal with it.

I’ve given David 5* because he helped to ease my anxiety and throughout the course he always tailored the sessions to what he thought was best for me. He was always really flexible and tried to accommodate me every week despite variations in my work schedule and if I ever needed anything he was quick to respond by email with advice and information how to turn things around for me and work through my problems. I’d definitely recommend David for anxiety issues for anyone thinking about using his services.

Nathan, Wigan

I wanted to try CBT in person but was sceptical about the use of Zoom for a talking therapy as I felt it would be too impersonal. But I decided to give it a try during the lockdown period and was glad to discover that David is using it to treat anxiety and stress, with such positive results. I felt that the sessions were tailored to my individual needs, especially as he gave me additional exercises to do on my own when I needed some support and recordings that were useful to play at night if I felt some anxiety creeping back into my thoughts. I like his humour and gentle manner and I would recommend anyone to look at his website and try his positive approach which combines hypnotherapy with cognitive behavioural therapy. He also works with phobias and sleeping issues.
